Becoming an Inhabitant of Nod
"But the Lord said to (Cain), 'Not so; if anyone kills Cain, he will suffer vengeance seven times over.' Then the Lord put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. So Cain went out from the Lord's presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden."
We are all the inhabitants of the land of Nod. The slumber, the pillow, and bed get hard. We can take it standing up or we can be together under the cover of God’s mark upon our foreheads, the blood of Christ sprinkled.
The hope is that he will always see in us more of Himself, and less of us, as earthquakes tremor and clouds sail above. Their duration is marked; their substance floats and dissolves into thin air while we live our lives like a bunch of ants building a city that will be exterminated by Raid.
But we never believe it. We slumber in the land of Nod, not because we are sleepy, but because we choose to build a city here that we think will outlive the eternal city whose builder and maker is God.

Something New. Read one of Robert's novels in progress. It's a sweet and tender love story that appeals to the romantic in all of us. Click the link: http://ablogofregrets.blogspot.com/
